Kent Brushwood, a gardener trusted to care for flowers and trees. Along with Anna Brushwood, the Brushwood mother, he is in charge of taking care of all the gardens in Sylvania. He worries about making the smallest of mistakes.

Anna Brushwood, the Brushwood mother is a reliable tree doctor, who can help if a tree is unhealthy or can't bear fruit. As if understanding what the plant feels, she takes care of trees with a gentle voice.

Eight Brushwood, brother loves being in the garden. He often spends time rumbling around the well-maintained lawn, and makes the effort to pack his lunch and eat outside.

Nana Brushwood, sister has an anxious personality, always saying, "I should stop doing..." She always writes down things in her favourite notebook so she'll never forget.

Baby Maru Brushwood, loves sour things, like pickled cucumbers from the jar. Maru loves gliding down hills with baby Momo.

Baby Momo Brushwood, loves the colour lavender, and wears rompers that match the lavender in the garden. In the garden, Momo likes to nap near the rows of lavender.

The Shiba Dog parents, Kent and Anna, spend hours silently working away in their garden. With flowers and trees at every turn, and a lush green lawn, all that work is really paying off!
As for the four children, they love to run around in the garden, or just lay down on the grass and bask in the sunshine. The eldest's name is Eight, followed by his sister Nana, and the baby twins Maru and Momo.
The Shiba Dog family are as close as can be. Whether they're eating, taking a nap, studying or playing, they all love to spend time in the garden together.

Story of the Sylvanian Families Brushwood Shiba Inu Dog Family from Japan

*This family was sold exclusively at the Sylvanian Families online shop and Sylvanian Families related facilities (Forest House, Kitchen, Park, etc.) in Japan in 2021. They made a brief appearance in the UK and were available from the official Sylvanian Families store in the UK in 2022.

I have taken the names and individual family member information from the official Japanese marketing material for this family and the family biography is as the paragraph was written on the UK site. (Roughly translated from the story at the back of the packaging)

I think this family is absolutely adorable! The brother has a questionable name though (Eight doesn't seem very fitting for a name, but perhaps families are starting to number kids in stead of naming them...) and I am unsure about the genders on the babies, so have taken them as black for boys and red for girls - some of the newer Japanese families have been breaking the convention of all males and females of a family looking alike. However, at least it was made clear which name goes with which figure by the colour of the rompers they wear.
